The only lens of its focal length which could be better may be the new Carl Zeiss designed, Cosina built 28mm f2.8 Biogon being introduced for the new Zeiss Ikon M rangefinder camera, judging from the lens specifications I have seen for the new Biogon lens. It is the best 28mm lens I have seen tested by Popular Photography, judging from the magazine's excellent lab report on this lens. The pictures I have taken with this lens using either black and white or color film have been spectacular, with superb contrast and resolution. I have no hesitation at all using the 28mm f2.8 Biogon either wide open or stopped down, because it is capable of yielding excellent results at all apertures.

It is also one of the finest wide angle rangefinder lenses in 35mm photography, performing as well as Leica's 28mm f2 Aspheric Summicron for its M series rangefinders. This review is from: CONTAX 28mm F/2.8 - Contax G1 & G2 Cameras (Electronics) The Carl Zeiss 28mm f2.8 Biogon lens is my favorite in the Contax G series, since it is the one I use most often with my Contax G2.
